Tracings no. 3 (Prostor; abstrakce)

This piece was written as part of the Uncertain Situations exhibition series, produced as a collaboration between Prague City Gallery and the Prague Quiet Music Collective. It was written as a response to and accompaniment for a series of pieces by photographer Jiří Thýn, all of which use mutliple exposure to achieve a kind of photographic cubism. My piece achieves a similar effect by layering multiple simultaneous interpretations of the same melody on three instruments, changing not only the rhythmic pacing, but also the microtonal inflections of individual notes.
