Four Stations is a piece written to accompany one's ride on the Prague metro, specifically from Malostranská to Náměstí míru. The piece was written for and performed by the Prague Quiet Music Collective.
Four Stations is part of a larger project, Hudba na znamení (Request Stop Music), by Czech Radio Vltava and the Prague Quiet Music Collective. Seven composers were commissioned to select a stretch of public transport (trams, buses, trolley buses, underground), make a field recording of the journey, and then compose a piece to accompany it. All the pieces are available both in a version with the field recording (to listen to at home) and with instruments only (to take with you and listen to as you travel).
You can read an interview (in English) about the project here, find more about the project here, listen to the album on Bandcamp, or listen to an in-depth interview in Czech.
